The Air Force’s new futuristic aircrew helmet. More than 100 designs have been submitted; but there was only one winner.       The U.S. Air Force has selected California-based LIFT Airborne Technologies to continue the development of a new helmet that is being designed for fixed-wing aircrew in the future, a  press release revealed .  We regularly report the progress of new weapons, aircraft, and warfare systems being developed worldwide. While technologies like  hypersonic missiles  and combat drones are pushing the envelope on what is normal in warfare, much smaller but critical components can get overlooked in the bigger picture.  The need for new helmets The helmet of an aircrew could be the modern-day equivalent of the proverbial horseshoe nail that lost the kingdom.  Helmets that are currently in use by the U.S. Air Force were designed back in the 1980s. Over the years, advances in technology have meant that the helmets have been fitted with equipment such as mounted

The 2023 Honda CR-V Shows Face, Interior, and Hybrid Badges. As gas prices surge, Honda is about to introduce an updated hybrid model of its best-selling SUV. The compact crossover will be fully unveiled later this summer . We've seen patent renderings of the upcoming new 2023 Honda CR-V compact crossover already, and we even made our own renderings of a realistic depiction of the next-gen SUV for you, but today, Honda has officially announced the updated model, with a few new real teaser images of it finally. The CR-V is going slightly more rugged this time around with its tweaked design, and Honda is promising more sophistication, increased versatility, and a sportier driving experience thanks to an updated hybrid setup. We have a few educated guesses for the sixth-gen CR-V will go, based on what we know so far and these new teasers. Thanks to the previously mentioned patent release with images, we think the CR-V will grow in length to accommodate more pas

Why the 2023 Acura Integra's Exhausts Are Shaped Like Curly Fries

Why the 2023 Acura Integra's Exhausts Are Shaped Like Curly Fries. The unusual exhaust routing under the rear bumper is no accident. If you were to find yourself beneath a new 2023 Acura Integra or the mechanically related Honda Civic, we sure hope it's not because you were just run over. In that case, you might have more pressing things to worry about than the odd routing of the dual exhausts under the back bumper. But, hey, pretend you're on the ground, under an Acura or a Honda, wondering why there are pipes aft of the exhaust outlets shapes like curly fries. We were similarly curious (having put ourselves on the ground, under an Acura Integra, on purpose) and did some digging with Acura for answers. What Does A Normal Exhaust Look Like? Normally, exhaust piping follows relatively straightforward routes from the engine to wherever the gases are intended to exit—usually the car's rear end. This typically manifests as straight-as-possible piping leading fro

This road can charge EVs and offers an unlimited range

This road can charge EVs and offers an unlimited range Say goodbye to range anxiety.       The new Fiat 500 on Arena del Futuro Stellantis Multinational automotive manufacturing corporation Stellantis has  built and tested  the capability of Dynamic Wireless Power transfer (DWPT) technology to wirelessly recharge electric vehicles (EVs) as they travel over  specially equipped dedicated road lanes .  DWPT technology utilizes wireless EV charging coils embedded under the surface so electric vehicles can charge as they drive and unlock unlimited range, thus overcoming  range anxiety . Who needs  fast-charging stations  or  swap stations?  Or who would buy electric vehicles that offer  the longest range  when they can charge their vehicle while driving? The best news is that the technology can be adapted for all vehicles equipped with a particular “receiver” that transfers the energy from the road infrastructure directly to the electric motor, extending the range while conserving the vehic
